How do your sessions work?
Pet Photos Plus offers photography sessions in your home, our studios or on location. Your photography session can include just your pet or the entire family. During your photography session, we create a variety of images using posed and candid shots.
How do I prepare for my photography session?
We encourage you to have your dog groomed before your session or just a bath and brushing will work! If you have a young, high energetic dog we suggest you take him for a walk before your session.
During family photography sessions, everyone should wear coordinating colors/outfits. Please limit your selection of accessories.
We have a fee for every photographic experience including the photography session, ordering and professional retouching. We offer a variety of options depending on the type of photography you seek. We require a deposit at the time of booking. All photo fees are paid in full at the completion of your session.

How long is a typical photography session?
Every photography session is unique and will vary in length. Our studio sessions are about 30-60 minutes. The other sessions depend on which photography plan you choose. The first few minutes of your session will be used to provide comfort for your pet.
How long does it take to receive products?
Allow 1-3 weeks for prints and personalized products.
Can I order additional products after my photography session?
Yes! Your images will be saved on file for one year from the date of your photography session, and any portraits or custom photography products can be ordered during that time. Many clients schedule their photography session in the spring or summer months and use those images to order their holiday cards in the winter months. We make gift giving easy for friends and family for the entire year.
What if my pet won't sit still for portraits?
We get this question ALL the time! So let us put your mind at ease. We see all the different personalities of pets. We even photograph pets who are blind or deaf. We take a different approach while photographing each pet because all pets are different. A squeaky toy might work great to get one dog to sit nicely and tilt her head, while the same noise might cause anxiety. Our photographers have the patience to outlast any personality that may seem impossible to photograph. We promise to create the best portraits possible. If you are displeased, we will reshoot your session free of charge or refund your fee. We stand behind our services and products 100%.
Do you offer consultations?
Absolutely! If you would like a complimentary consultation to help you prepare just call or send an email. A consultation prior to your session will help you prepare for a comfortable photographic experience.
If you are joining your pet(s) in the portrait, these are suggestions for what to wear:
Solid color tops. Busy patterns take attention away from your pet(s)
Contrasting colors that work with your pet(s) coloring
Long sleeve or 3/4 length for classic portraiture
Families should wear colors that blend nicely together. Different shades of the same color are great, but avoid clothing with high contrast tones.
How should I prepare my pet for a session?
Great question! We encourage exercising your pet before the session. If you have a cat, this is obviously not as critical. Please consider having your pet groomed before your appointment.
Is there a fee for travel?
If your destination is within 30 miles of New Hope, there is no fee. If your shoot is more than 30 miles, we will charge a travel fee depending on distance. If you are outside of PA-NJ we will try to accommodate you!
What does the process look like?
We start with a phone call to discuss what your project involves. We send you a proposal on your request. If accepted you will send the products you want photographed and we will match them with the appropriate pets. We will send the proofs for you to select and purchase. Once this decision is made the digital images will be fully retouched and yours to use. Pet parents will sign a model release so the photos can be used on your website and social media. Our experienced organization will make the process run smoothly and quickly.
Where do you get the models?
We have a list of pet models in our area that we regularly use. This gives us an awareness of their abilities and temperament so we can pick the right pet(s) for your projects.
Do I have to pay for models?
No, the models are included in your package.
We establish a partnership and business plan with each client. We will quote you our estimated price when we send you the proposal. At that point we can negotiate a price that is fair for both parties.
How long does the process take?
We usually finish photographing within two to three weeks of receiving the products. Once you approve the proofs it will take an additional week depending on the amount of photos. The entire process will take about three to four weeks.
